  • Focus
    By focusing on an industry sector, we intimately understand the business and legal issues facing biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies. We have developed a database of over 1000 life science commercial contracts negotiated by Life Sciences Law attorneys that allows us to benchmark industry norms for common legal provisions in all types of life science agreements.

  • Client Service
    Superior client service is our highest priority. In this regard, we have a firm policy of returning phone calls within two hours and of completing assignments for our high volume clients within an average of 24 to 48 hours after receipt. The commitment to providing superior client service is shared at all levels of our organization, including our support staff. From time to time, we have loaned members of our well-respected support staff to our clients to assist them with due diligence efforts, in establishing databases and tracking systems to control document flow, and in organizing the legal function.

  • Understanding our Clients' Businesses.
    In addition to our strong commitment to excellence in our legal practice, we strive to understand our clients' businesses. Several of our attorneys have management consulting experience in the pharmaceutical industry, some hold MBAs and others have run small companies. We also have lawyers who have worked "in-house" at start-up and mature life science companies. By understanding the business implications behind an agreement, we gain credibility, facilitate negotiations, and avoid overcomplicating contracts with meaningless points.

  • Value-Added Services.
    We want not only to provide superior legal advice, but also to assist our clients in identifying business opportunities and making strategic introductions where applicable. To enhance our understanding of a new technology, from time to time, we engage consultants to assist us in exploring the scientific principles behind our clients' technology, and how such technology relates to existing technology in the marketplace.

  • Cost-Effective Legal Service.
    We have developed time saving mechanisms to reduce our clients' legal expenditures, including templates, annotated forms, databases of various life science contracts and lexicons of preferred legal terms. All of our attorneys have at least five years of prior legal experience, meaning that our clients do not pay for training cost as our attorneys hit the ground running. We offer competitive billing rates, volume discounts and other flexible billing arrangements.

  • Commitment to the Community.
    Life Sciences Law's attorneys are actively involved with the RTP community as business advisors to technology commercialization programs at the local universities, as committee members for CED, and as mentors to our communities' youth. By contributing to the success of all members of our community, we feel that we enhance the environment in which we and our clients operate.
